The Balinese is a domestic cat breed whose body is covered with long hair and has point coloration similar to Siamese. It is also called purebred long-haired Siamese since it mutated from the Siamese breed. Essentially, it is a Siamese with only differences being in the silky long-haired coat and plumed tail. Someone who wants to buy Balinese kittens for sale should find this information useful.

Siamese and Balinese show a lot of resemblance in all other respects. For instance, they both have wedge-shaped or triangular heads, large ears, blue eyes, and striking color points. Both has masculine body figures and same size. The resemblance comes from mutation of the Siamese breed to produce Balinese. Otherwise, the similarity is amazing with minor differences.

Bali, the Indonesian Island and the name Balinese have no relationship at all. The cat was developed because breeders wanted to reveal the recessive long hair trait that was in Siamese. The initial name, long-haired Siamese was very long and was therefore dropped in favor of a shorter one. The current name was given in reference to Balinese dancers. Today, evolution has allowed the cat to have two separate varieties depending on physical type.

The coat of this cat is medium in length and should be soft and silky. However, there may be differences among individuals in the length of the coat. It does not have a fluffy undercoat which is characteristic in other long-haired breeds. When two Balinese are mated, the offspring usually has a longer coat. The color of eyes ranges from blue to sapphire/violet. Age and diet may affect the intensity of the eye color.

Newly born kittens develop dark points in their extremities after some time. However, when they are born, the coat is usually pure cream or pure white. The coat color cane be identified at the age of four weeks. Aging causes the coat color to darken more. Warm temperatures in warm regions cause the coat to be lighter than cold temperatures in cold regions.

Cat fanciers all over the world accept the cat in four major colors, seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac. Javanese is a classification for all other cats with different colors including, cream point, red, lynx point, and tortoiseshell. There is no relationship between the Indonesian island Java and the name Javanese.

Like its ancestor Siamese, this breed exhibits a high level of playfulness, intelligence, and sociability. It is usually interested in activities going on around it and prefers vocalizing in a lower voice. Among all breeds with long hair, this cat is considered to be the most intelligent. They love human company so much and they feel happy when in company of their owner.

Compared to other breeds, people with allergies find less trouble with this breed. This is as a result of the lower amount of Fel d1 and d4 they produce. A lot of research is being done by breeding organizations and clubs to determine the existence of the hypoallergenic quality.
