Ensuring That Your Puppies Have Healthy And Sparkling Teeth With Breeders Cavachon Professionals

By George Nelson

Dog breeders and veterinarians regularly advise puppy owners to brush the teeth of their puppies. These experts advise dog owners to brush their puppies teeth every day to avoid bacteria and food buildup on the teeth. Building up of food and bacteria is cited as a major cause of gum infection, irritation, and plaque. Also, apart from brushing the teeth of your dog every day, breeders Cavachon professionals advice that you should do other things to ensure healthy teeth for your dog. Some of these things include.

Check the type of food you give your dog. Many people do not know that the type of food they give their dogs has a great effect on the health of the dogs, the teeth of the dogs included. Giving your dog quality food particularly a diet that constitutes whole foods, nourishes the body of the dogs, thus strong and healthy teeth.

When giving your pet snacks, the best option would be to give them fruits and vegetables. Many owners will give their dogs some snacks because they like them. However, these snacks will contain some fats and sugars that are not good for your dog. The best snacks are fruits since they are healthy and will not stick to their teeth.

Another option for chew treats is the dried meat. These meat treats are a good option for treats and also will help in keeping the teeth of the puppy clean. These treats will be accepted well by these dogs even especially for the ones who are choosy on the snacks to take.

The other way is to provide the animal with raw bones especially the large ones, like for a cow. The small ones will disturb the puppy as they tend to break and stick between the teeth or the mouth causing a lot of discomfort to the dog. Supervise it so that you can assist it if any bone sticks in the mouth to save it from suffering.

Avoid giving your dog chew bones prepared with starches. Most commercial chews made from starches such as rice flours, corn, potatoes, are more sticker than dried meat chews or vegetables. Instead of these starches scraping the teeth of your dog off the sticky meals, they stick on the teeth making them highly prone to bacteria and plague. These commercial starches are also made of some ingredients that are not healthy for your dog.

Begin a routine to clean the teeth of your dog. Even when you are sure that you cannot manage to wash the teeth of your dog after every snack or meal, you should have some sort of a routine. In case you can practice the above suggestions and make a habit of cleaning your dogs teeth once or twice every week, you can be sure of a healthy dog.

To clean the teeth of your dog, wrap a piece of wet gauze on your index finger, and then soak it in some dog toothpaste or baking soda. Rub it gently on the teeth of your dog. You should not clean the whole mouth at once. You can begin with only a quarter of your dogs mouth.
