Grooming. A regular and a thorough grooming would be very essential in order to prevent matting and to keep the coats in a good condition. Always be prepared for possible drooling. If you hate a drool or a slobber, finding it very disgusting, prefer another breed instead. Newfoundlands would tend to drool or to slobber after drinking or eating. The sign they make is shaking their, and eventually, saliva slimes off from your clothes. A slobber cloth is recommended for them.

Spend more time with him. This breed has been considered to be one a devoted dog and this characteristic is said to be its great attraction. They always want to be with their masters since they are not like those other breeds who can be left for a longer time. Thus, if you are working all day long, better not have this breed of dog.
