By Betty King

There are many things in which people do not know about dogs and curious to understand since they are different according to the way they operate and work around people. Therefore there is every need for you to know the importance of military working dogs since described not ordinary pets to them. There are many qualities in which they have been trained on hence making them their counterparts.

The first thing you should know about these pets is that they know what to do, where to do it and why to do since they have gone through training in different operations and to serve as soldiers. Therefore it is not easy to make them do anything not trained to do hence making those more like people.

After the Second World War, the troops who were deployed to fight for their country were encouraged by circumstances to acquire and train them for their operations. Therefore they requested the people leaving around them to donate their dog pets to them for trained and use in military operations.

After donations, they were divided into groups and trained separately on different tasks. Therefore they become as soldiers since every dog was able after 12 weeks of training to know the task ahead and receive commands from the military. Therefore it was easy to accomplish a task and chase on an enemy since they understood their tasks.

Being trained to sit, stay and carryout commands, they were made accustomed to the noises which were made during the way. They were also shown the way to travel in the army vehicles hence making them a part of the team and encouraging the soldiers during the war. There were many other things in which trained on as highlighted below.

Others were trains to become sniff dogs for booby traps during the war therefore making them useful in knowing the places in which the enemy has set them accordingly. However they helped in winning the fight and ending it for good. The training was massive and become a success afterwards. Till today, the task is still set and professionals are employed to carry out the training for police dogs.

In these different groups which were divided, some of the dogs were trained to become camp guards with the help of few soldiers who were assigned for the duty. Therefore they were able to make sure they are all set for the guard during the day and also during the night. If they smelled something or discover there was something or someone approaching the camp, they could let their counterparts know and hence ready for defense.

Some of these pets were trained to become very sensitive so they could be abler to smell a booby trap from the field where the soldiers were to pass and alert them on the different location where they are set. Therefore they became very helpful and today, they are trained in large numbers making it possible for the police to have some of them in order to be able to catch the criminals easily.
