How To Potty Train A Puppy

There are a few secrets on how to potty train a puppy, although much of the work will be with you. One important tip is to take the time to properly potty train your puppy. Puppies do require a lot of discipline when you first get them home and potty training is one of the most important ones. Let's start with some facts about puppy potty training.

A baby will go potty whenever it needs to and that is the same with a puppy. They will go potty when they feel the need so you will need to break them of that habit right away. When they are so young, you will need to get them outside when you feel they need a potty break.

Learning how to potty train a puppy starts with showing the puppy where their potty place is. Keep an eye out for when you think they will need to go potty and take them out to their potty place. Be sure and give them kind words when they have gone potty in the right place, so they know they have dome something good.

You can give your puppy a treat for a reward after they have gone potty in the place you want. This makes them realize that if I go potty in this place I will receive a treat and they will go in that spot again.

Puppies that are not that old don not have large bladders, and will most likely want to go potty every 40 minutes or so. Another tip in how to potty train a puppy is be always looking to see if they need a potty break. You must get them outside often do they do not go potty inside.

After a puppy has eaten, they will most likely want to go potty right after, so take them out right after their meals. You need to take your puppy out the last thing at night and also first thing in the morning. Get them on the same schedule when doing this so they know when it is time for a potty break.

Everyone within your household will need to say the same phrase when you want your puppy to go potty outside. This way your puppy will hear that phrase and know that it means we need to go outside and potty.

Another tip on how to potty train a puppy is to never rub their nose in their potty. They do not know what they did wrong and might go potty out of sight next time because you rubbed their nose in it before.
